Position the connected piece
Center the seat section on the chair. Rest the raised section against the chair’s backrest so both parts are supported by the furniture beneath and behind them.
Start with a stable chair rather than an unsupported or unstable surface.

Check the edges and stability
Look around the sides and front of the seat. The cushion should not overhang or shift. Check that armrests and the chair back do not crowd the sitting area.
If either the chair or cushion feels insecure, stop and reconsider the setup.

Adjust your sitting position
Allow for the cushion raising your sitting position. Check that your feet can rest comfortably and that you have enough room to move and reach your work surface.
Take regular movement breaks; the cushion does not remove the need to change position.

What if the setup feels unstable or uncomfortable?
